DEEP BLUE FM PUTS THE SOUL BACK INTO LOCAL RADIO!
DeepBlue FM is a brand new short-term licence radio station broadcasting to the Bournemouth area from 1st -28th August 2008.
Why we are different..
We are very different to the usual local radio stations due to the nature of our funding. Other stations charge a lot for advertising and push their adverts so hard that the listener’s pleasure is interrupted with constant breaks in the music resulting in many of them reaching for their CD’s or non-commercial radio.
DeepBlue FM operates a listener friendly 'sponsorship per show system'. Each show has two sponsors, whose names are included in all jingles for the show they have chosen to sponsor. These are played at least twice per hour, sometimes even over the instrumental breaks of playing records, thus never breaking up the flow of the show and keeping the listeners’ interest. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding value for money to local businesses and businesses who wish to reach a target audience in Bournemouth area.
Another great thing about Deep Blue FM is that we offer an exciting diverse musical spectrum. Unlike regular radio stations we do not standardize our playlists and give our trusted and experienced DJ’s scope to deliver the very best in their specialist area of music. These guys know their music and they don’t need to be told what to play.
DeepBlue FM is completely independent! We are not tied to a larger corporation and we have set ourselves up for the community. We use predominately local club DJ's who have a feel for the local area and have first-hand knowledge of many of our sponsors’ businesses.
So what we are trying to do?
We are going to put the soul back into Bournemouth! At one time Bournemouth was legendary for its thriving and diverse music scene, but over the past few years we feel it has lost its identity. At Deep Blue FM we intend to remind everyone that we have some exceptional local talent here with brilliant venues that cater for a wide range of musical tastes.
We don’t aim our service at any particular age group, as you can appreciate good music at any age. We just want to deliver the very best. One minute you could be listening to the latest underground mix of a new Amy Winehouse tune, the next a classic piece of soul from the darkest recesses of a DJ’s record collection!
So, with the culmination of the support of great local businesses and the use of our outstanding local talent, we are hoping to give Bournemouth an injection of hope and inspiration to its music-loving community whilst giving our sponsors publicity that is unusual and great value for money
