COUNCILLORS for the areas served by Bournemouth's new night bus service are hopeful the initiative will reduce late-night noise and disturbance for residents.
Conservative councillor David Kelsey, who represents East Cliff, said: "We should have had this years ago.
"Currently, we get large crowds of people who either don't want or can't afford to pay for a taxi so decide to walk home instead and inevitably, they make a noise and disturb people.
"Now they will be able to jump on a bus it will be so much easier. I think it's a good idea - let's give it until Christmas and see how it works."

And Conservative councillor Nick King, whose ward includes Iford, where the night bus will end up, said: "We get occasional complaints from residents about people who are walking home from local pubs and clubs.
"It's not an antisocial problem but it is enough to disturb people and we welcome the use of the night bus to cater for these people." _________________

There is nothing wrong with a night bus service, and I don't believe that there will be more noise for the local residents at the stops where these people get off. However I believe the driver who has to drive these vehicles should be given necessary protection and training to cope with the type of low life that will inevitably take over and destroy the service for the rest of the travelling public.
