I have added a link to this site from http://www.squidoo.com/bournemouth and hope that I can help drive some more traffic here.

Good Luck with the site. I love the photos.

Good evening!

Are there any transport historians out there who could give me some information of the former municipal fleet and NBC operator(s) in the Bournemouth area?

I'm trying to find out the dates on which Bournemouth Corporation and the Hants and Dorset/Wilts and Dorset companies dispensed with bus conductors on their regular services.

Research so far shows most conductors being retired in the 1980-1982 period, but sometimes holiday resorts kept them longer.

Any help would be

Why can’t people in the Southeast commit?!?

Hi. I’m new to this forum, so I hope you don’t mind me starting a thread. I’ve been doing some research for AOL about what people are like with service contracts, and the results say that people in the South East are among the most fickle in Britain. I don’t understand why. Any ideas?

There’s a map with the results across the country here tieddownbritain.co.uk/

Many thanks

DEEP BLUE FM PUTS THE SOUL BACK INTO LOCAL RADIO!
DeepBlue FM is a brand new short-term licence radio station broadcasting to the Bournemouth area from 1st -28th August 2008.
Why we are different..
We are very different to the usual local radio stations due to the nature of our funding. Other stations charge a lot for advertising and push their adverts so hard that the listener’s pleasure is interrupted with constant breaks in the music resulting in many of them reaching for their CD’s or

There is nothing wrong with a night bus service, and I don't believe that there will be more noise for the local residents at the stops where these people get off. However I believe the driver who has to drive these vehicles should be given necessary protection and training to cope with the type of low life that will inevitably take over and destroy the service for the rest of the travelling public.

New crackdown on antisocial bus stop parking

From The Echo:

INCONSIDERATE motorists who block bus stops are to be targeted by civil enforcement officers.

Wardens are going to step up patrols at problem areas and hand out penalty tickets to motorists who are illegally parked at bus stops.

Transport bosses at Bournemouth council say they are determined to tackle the problem because it hinders passengers getting on and off the bus and often leads to the bus blocking the road, causing traffic to tail back.
